Feel the Fear .. and Do It Anywayby Katie Snapp
Had trouble dealing with fear and self-doubt? If so, you may find this approach a perfect answer to your issues. Too often, we encounter fear and use our instincts to back away. As a leader in the workplace, that is rarely the best choice. The author does a nice job of outlining the benefits of fear, and then moving through it as an option. A major underlying message is how courage plays a role. I think of a famous quote that states "Courage is not the absence of fear. But action in the face of fear." Jeffers guides the reader to an understanding of the drawbacks of hanging onto the anxiety that goes with fear and how that can incapacitate you. Considering the trouble that creates, balance it with the courage to overcome it. Usually, making the choice to be courageous is worth the payoff of getting rid of the original fear.
