Natural Skills – how do I know which I have

Imagine you entered a meeting room and immediately felt the cold stares at you. You had no idea what was discussed right before you entered, yet you could sense that you missed something and that it somehow must have reflected on you in some way. What’s with that?

Those innate capabilities of sensing the environment around you are vital for business these days. After all, consider what happens during a negotiation. Would it help to know what someone was thinking? Sure. And although you cannot read minds, you probably have a way of reading undercurrents.

But as we grow and mature, we are subliminally taught to bury those intuitions more and more. We are trained to look for hard evidence for making decisions. We rarely hear the reason for a decision as being your “gut.”

This month focuses in depth on our Intuition Model, including how we sense undercurrents and how we act on them. There is a Buddhist saying “When the student is ready, the teacher appears.” I believe that women have an innate capability to lead in a naturally talented way, yet we too quickly close the door to it. My challenge for you this week is to invite personal readiness, to open your mental portal to sensing more undercurrents, in an effort to open your leadership capabilities. See more about the Intuition Model in this month’s Hot Flash video.
